You know I always wonder this whole thing about pickup lines, you know things guys or gals say to the person they like in order to pick them up. Now, when I was on the dating scene I really wasn’t all that good on approaching women, especially coming up with a witty line to pick them up. Most of the time I would scope the place and if I came across one that we had eye contact, and she smiled, well I moved in, well wait, I didn’t move in right away, I would look again and make sure it was me and then move in.
My conversation usually consisted of “Do you come here often”, “Do you live here in San Diego”, etc. simply and many times I usually only got a “Yes” or “No”, of course other times they would extend the response and we would hit it off. But I would sometimes hear some of the guys come up to say a women that happen to be sitting next to me and MAN I said to myself they actually say those things…Now the women sometimes would laugh and talk to the guy, but most of the time if there was another women in the group they would tell the guy to bug off. Then they would talk amongst themselves saying, “Can you believe that guy, what a clown”.
Anyhow, the whole dating thing sometimes drive me bananas, especially hearing the younger generation talk about it, how hard it is and the new ways that they are dating or meeting. The whole Internet social networks such as Face Book or Twitter and others…people no longer meet face to face and instead look for it online…if you think about the rate this is becoming more common, in a decade or so, we will no longer have to physically meet people, just go online and select what you want from a menu and Bam…there is your ideal mate….ready for delivery.
Anyhow, I think about it and with all the social networks and the different generation of kids dating, it seems that it really has become a society where people simply look on line…now…not all countries…there many that don’t have this new easily accessible internet and their traditions are still in-tact. People’s lives haven’t change and when you think about it…we simply say that they are third world countries and they are behind the times. When in fact…if you think about it…I think we are going with the times, which is not all bad, but how far do we take it and how much of it is taken by our personal lives…technology seems to take over every aspect of it and we tend to loose our selves
My Perspective:
Dating has become a thing of the past, Online Social Dating is in…but don’t go to a country where Internet is not as accessible, because you’ll be force to use your Mouth and words and it might not work for you. Pickup lines now include, are you on FaceBook…yah…and to think what sort of values do we have if we never really talk.
